("Ex stylis" is Latin for "from the pens of." Note the lovely Mbwun lily pads and vines,
and the coded message encircling the border.)
The actual bookplates are signed by both Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child in
contrasting inks.
Bookplates are currently available in limited quantities. If you would like to order
one or more, please follow these 3-step instructions carefully. (NOTE: These instructions
are currently for U.S. orders only, alas.)
1. Send a stamped, self-addressed envelope (first-class stamp, regular business-size
"No. 10" envelope) to the following address:
Lincoln Child
P. O. Box 162
Convent Station, N.J. 07961
ATTN: Bookplates
2. Along with your stamped, self-addressed return envelope, include a note stating the
number of bookplates you wish to order. To cover production and handling costs, you
must also enclose a number of loose (i.e., not yet glued down) first-class stamps equal
to the number of bookplates you are requesting. In other words, if you are
asking for three bookplates, include three stamps with the letter. If you're asking
for eight bookplates, include eight stamps with your letter. As mentioned above, the
stamps are used to defray the cost of design and printing of the bookplates.
Bookplate requests that do not include a stamped, addressed return envelope and sufficient
loose first-class stamps will not be processed.
(If it seems we're repeating ourselves here, you'd be surprised at how many requests
for eight bookplates we get, with eight stamps glued to the return envelope!)
3. There is a maximum of eight bookplates per order. (More, and the letter would
weigh too much.)
Note that this offer may be suspended in the future if the supply of bookplates
becomes depleted. Meanwhile, enjoy!!
