AND LAST

So what is there left to say, now: two weeks, thirteen hotels, twenty-six black and purple Sharpies, and 3,850 miles later?

We are both awed and humbled by our readers. Your loyalty, friendliness, excitement, and patience are truly remarkable. The number of dedicated fans who drove literally hundreds of miles to see us and shake our hands was amazing—but we were of course just as happy to see and chat with those who had merely driven from the next town over. We count ourselves the luckiest writers on earth.

The bookstore staffs we encountered at our formal signings were, in every case, a delight to work with: accommodating, enthusiastic and helpful.

Our tour director, Brent Gibbs, and our tour driver, Jerry Ragle, kept everything on track and made the day-by-day logistics practically effortless. They were consummately professional, yet easygoing and personable at the same time. It was a real pleasure to get to know them and their wives.

Thanks also to Evan and the team at Grand Central, as well as to everyone at Premiere Transportation.

This was an event we won’t soon forget, and it was without question the most successful—not only professionally, but in terms of personal satisfaction—tour we’ve had to date. Thanks to everybody who, in whatever capacity, took part in it and helped share the experience with us.
