Misadventures in the Tristate area...Printer Friendly View
The boys picking out the wide-screen TVs they felt certain Costco would give them for such an excellent signing

This was a long and grueling day for the dynamic duo. We drove down from Foxwoods Resort into the tangle of the greater New York City area, ending up at a massive Costco on Long Island. We’ve done numerous Costco signings and we’re happy to report that this one was, by far, the most successful yet.

We then headed in the direction of Manhattan, wrestling with New York traffic, making for the Brooklyn Bridge. At the very last minute we were turned away, being told the Mega-bus—in all its vast glory--was not allowed to cross the aged structure! We ended up in a maze of Brooklyn back streets. But with the help of Jerry and Brent and the wonders of GPS we managed to thread our way out of the urban labyrinth. Although this meant we were forced to make a last-minute change of plans (endless apologies, Otto!) we ultimately crossed the grand span of the Verazzano Narrows (the bridge the Britannia had been planning to pass beneath on its ill-fated maiden voyage as described in The Wheel of Darkness) and made our way through New Jersey and to the outskirts of Philadelphia, where we had a fantastic signing at Chester County Books. We’ve always had great events at this store and this evening was no exception. Joe of Chester County predicts great things for Cemetery Dance—and who are we to argue?

The event was captured by a videographer, who also did an interview with the two of us afterwards. Plan on seeing it make its way onto YouTube and other similar venues in the not too distant future…
